The downfall of great SPIRIT
After spending six years trundling across the rocky surface of the Red Planet, the Mars rover Spirit has finally ended journey after trapped on sand.Spirit and its twin, Opportunity, landed to opposite end of the mars in 2004.I have been following these 2 rovers since than and what they have done in science terms is stunning!!! Its just a normal robots. Spirit has encountered many obstacle before this,even stuck is sand but menage to get away coz believed have high energy that time.There weremore sun energy,but now as winter is approacing at mars less energy from sun down to mars.But nasa hope Spirit still can do research while stuck in place, studying the planet's core, tracking the weather and examining the soil in detail as they discovered geological evidence that water flowed on the Martian surface eons ago.
I really hope Spirit will survive to provide more information about its surroundings. This is the sort of achievement our humans truly take pride in. Congratulations to everyone who has worked on it. Hope to be among them one day :-)
