Kemensah waterfall Adventure!!!

This Waterfall have been known to many but seen only by a few!!

April 6 2008 -Sunday, a day for me to hibernate after a long week of work. Unfortunately I ended up donate blood to leeches in Kemensah Jungle. Got to meet Raj,thana & afif.Worthwhile afterall. We started our journey by gathering at batu caves..we got chance to get some pic there...Then we continue to our destination that day Kemensah Waterfall. We made a stop at "deen" restaurant to have our breakfast.Drove past Zoo Negara, follow the long, bump-y, narrow road passing by the villages, a private family fishing pond, durian-less durian trees.. enjoy the greenery. Just as we say, "are we there yet?", you'll see a huge building with a red roof in a distance. We reached the spot at 9.15am.There is such a nice looking waterfall almost a stone throw from KLCC. At the perimeter boundary of the federal capital Kuala Lumpur. The Quartz Ridge is a protrusions supported by low hills the encompasses Kuala Lumpur. This unique terrain of almost 17 kilometers long with near vertical walls on both side is home to quite a number of waterfalls.

We started or journey at around 9.20am.The first path of the journey was 1.5 kilometers of walking with a gradual slope followed by one that was more in gradient. We were 'attacked' by lots of leeches on the way to the fall..Huhhh..) Still not easy walking, starting with bamboo clumps and later into tropical forest. The track broad enough for a motorized vehicle at one time is now badly eroded with deep gorges at the center. Many stages [at least 5 times] the track was disrupted by fallen trees.

After a long 45minutes walk... we reached the first stop,1st part of the water fall.At last, the waterfall as close as the front of our faces. At long the last trees revealed nature closely guarded secret...1st thing was look for any leeches at our legs...sh*** there's a lot..its like "blood donation campaign"..then after clean it..I could not resist to take a deep. The fresh cool clear water really tempting. I could not be bothered anymore about my camera (and photography).. Take off my 'sweat-full' T-shirt and 'mud-full' pant and there I have my short pant ready inside.Outta this world! The waters feels very refreshing and cooling. I almost forgotten all the gruelling experience that it takes to come to this place.

After spend almost 30minutes there..We continue our journey to second location ..Its the most adventures jouney ever that i have been through in my life.River tracking...The trail starts with a long walk alongside the cascade of waterfalls, to a stretch of stairs, quite steep, weneed go along the river .The river made a turn among the reasonably flat rock surface .This waterfall lay at the eastern end of the right visible sections. As we move towards the track to the waterfall, after about 30minutes trekking, the sound of water becomes more distinct and through the trees the fall becomes visible. After 30minutes hard fought walk..We reached our second & last stop. This waterfall is even bigger than the 1st .This place was simply superb. The waterfall itself is nice, spectacular, more a cascade than a real fall.We had the waterfall all to ourselves! The water was cooooold.. but the thunderous flow of water provided a nice massaging effect, kinda like a cold jacuzzi. Had a good soak.

Its lunch time, we need some energy when we go back.I had nasi lemak & 100+ for mine.haha perfect combination rite..The trail continued after satisfying lunch..we enjoyed the water fall again before we go back. Its time to go back..after took some pics we decided return back. There should be more waterfalls upstream! But that will need another trip. ...its another adaventures journey to way back..rocks,fallen tree and mostly leeches..i hate it..we were much carefull of it this time..So we cover-up our legs with plastic & socks..haha funny .The Treking down was much fater .. it took us just over an hour . For a 2 hours both ways hike, good exercise refreshing moods and ideal settings. What else can one ask for within driving distance from our domicile. The expedition ended at proximately around 3pm..Was so glad to reach back..We made it!!!

A very refreshing atmosphere, rewarding scene and most of all, time with real nature..It was a good day, good experiance for us..We enjoy it..The place is strongly recommended for those in town seeking adventure. Less than an hours drive from town center but beware of blood sucking leeches..hahah
