Tamil New Year
April 13 2008-Sunday, Puthandu ,more frequently known as the Tamil New Year are celebrated on the same day respectively in the All over the world by Hindu's. They generally fall on 13 April or 14 April. Tamil New Year is celebrated on the first day of the Hindu Solar Calendar ,every year in the month of Chithrai (the first month of the Hindu solar calendar).Greetings of “Puthandu Vazthukal”, (Happy New Year), are exchanged with fervour on this day, which is supposedly the day when Lord Brahma (The Creator of the world, according to Hindu mythology) started creation. This year Puthandu falls on 13th april.I was at Kotamalai Sri Ganesha temple near Puduraya station on that day,i was invited by on of my friend to the temple as the temple is known as highly popular temple in KL.I were there since 6.30 in the morning.
